Art and Handicrafts
Tøndermarsken is largely a cultural destination.
Tøndermarsken’s cultural heritage is evident. For example, there are 125 listed buildings and 10 buildings under preservation orders in Højer alone. There are castles and manor houses, historical environments, the border country and its history and, of course, the cultural landscape with its polders, dykes, sluices, pumping stations, etc.
However, Tøndermarsken is no less a cultural destination thanks to the many artists and artisans who produce art and handicrafts here.
This page provides you with a list of the many and varied artists and artisans in Tøndermarsken.

BODIL ARBJERG LUNDBY
Bodil Arbjerg Lundby prefers to work in and with the natural environment. While well known for her stone sculptures, she also produces charcoal drawings.
Bodil’s working with charcoal and stone is not fortuitous. Bodil Arbjerg Lundby loves nature, natural forces and natural materials. As media, charcoal and stone are both raw and uncompromising. Bodil’s working processes brook her no qualms. There’s no crying over spilt milk!
Bodil Arbjerg Lundby regards achieving mastery over nature’s materials as a challenge. She seeks to play along not only with material limitations but also with the broad palette of opportunities they afford.
NINI LARSEN DUNCAN
Nini Duncan is a painter who, in 2003, willingly left Copenhagen to settle down surrounded by sheep, birds and people who said hello to her in the local dialect: Mojn!
She paints in many different styles, although her art, she believes, has to keep her on her toes.
Visitors must have a good sense of balance when climbing stairs when they visit her workshop.
Please call in advance.

GALLERI KUNSTART BY DAISY DAHL
Daisy is fascinated by houses and architecture, and the symbolism associated with such structures. A house is the foundation for our life as we live it. Each of us is from our HOME and of our HOME. Our home is where we belong. Using contemporary artistic methods, Daisy portrays your home as your haven in life, often with a twist of the vernacular. She may include a mill, water tower, beacon or other elements that are of significance to you and your surroundings, or that are part of our common cultural heritage.
Daisy is fascinated by the play of colour and light in her local area. She expresses these in her more abstract works. Her paintings are beautiful and laden with meaning.
